Production/Purchasing Manager

This is a Full-time position in Calhoun, GA posted June 21, 2021.

Production/Purchasing Manager is responsible for planning materials, production and distribution of finished goods across the network while achieving desired service, inventory, capacity, and total delivered cost targets.* Responsible for directing and coordinating the work activities concerned with the production of company products in assigned production cost centers. Apply knowledge of production methods, equipment, and capability of workers utilizing lean manufacturing practices.* Establishes production and QC standards, plans and directs production activities and establishes priorities in keeping with effective operations.* Establish production and quality control standards and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.* Plans and directs the overall activities of production operations within one or more specific cost centers to meet corporate production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with quality and safety requirements.* Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems* Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality with management approval.* Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems. Schedules work assignments and assures appropriate staffing is available.* Coordinates production activities and raw material availability with the Production Control Department to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. Informs the Plant Manager of any problem areas.* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.* Three years or more related work experience* Experience in a DRP, Production Planning, MRP/SAP, Production Scheduling, Inventory Management and/or S&OP.* Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.* Solid cross-functional team leadership skills.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with experience
