Manager, Global Product Engineering

Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry.

Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Reporting to the Director, Global Product Development, the Manager, Global Product Engineering will be responsible for leading the Product Engineering group in both North America and Europe.

This role will also ensure consistency in the application of the Product Engineering role in NA and EU for project management, engineering analysis, standards, specifications, testing, certification, statistical analysis and manufacturing, delivering credible schedules.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish processes to ensure structures and repeatable process to create project timeline estimations of resource and project budgets.

• Establish annual goals with team members, conducting performance reviews and evaluations.

• Develop and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement initiatives establishing best practices.

• Mentor the Product Engineering team in the best practice for the development of Test Programs.

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge for the Engineering team, attending and recommending education workshops and professional publications.

• Communicate and collaborative with cross functional engineering resources.

• Educate and coach the team in the process of structural analysis utilizing engineering principals and software.

• Ensure compliance with internal developed methodologies and practices in the project environment.

Essential Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license

• Structural analysis, engineering principals, and simulation software

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and Inventor

Basic Qualifications:

• BS or BS Technology degree

• 10+ years professional experience overseeing product development projects and providing engineering oversight and guidance.

• Knowledge of statistical analysis and scientific methods for problem solving

• Experience with structural analysis software including Excel

• Knowledge of standards and test methods

• Strong project management skills and high knowledge of Microsoft Project

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Verification of employment eligibility will be required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Architectural Aluminum Systems knowledge
