INNOVATE TO SOLVE THE WORLD’S MOST IMPORTANT CHALLENGES

The  HBT HSE Americas Director , will provide regional oversight for all the HBT ISC factories, distribution centers and office roof tops within Canada, United States and LATAM.

A key responsibility will be to provide continuous improvement expertise that assists the business in reducing & eliminating the operational HSE risks and driving the maturity of our performance within the region.

Reporting to the HBT VP Health, Safety, Environment & Resiliency, you will help develop and deliver the HBT HSEPS strategic plan (STRAP) & Annual Operating Plan (AOP) while ensuring long term development of the Americas HBT HSE team.

You will be responsible for developing an HSE performance culture that will differentiate HBT from our competitors and expand Honeywell’s reputation in HSE.

As the  HBT HSE Americas Director your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop & drive an HSE culture that values and promotes a safe working environment by enhancing the HSE knowledge, skills and engagement of employees, contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Develop & deploy in partnership with the HBT HSE teams subject matter experts, the regional strategy for Business Continuity, Office & low risk sites (OLRS), Sustainability, Field Operations and Manufacturing ISC locations.
  • Proactively lead HSE elements for all transition activities within the region.
  • Lead the deployment of the HBT business continuity & resiliency strategy, process, tools & performance within the region.
  • Identify & implement energy reduction and renewable energy opportunities aligned with the HBT sustainability strategy.
  • Continuously improve the management operating system (MOS) to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the HBT HSE programs.
  • Manage the safety of all HBT and non-HBT employees at the numerous OLRS (office & low risk site) locations.
  • Lead the development & deployment of the 3-5 strategic plan (STRAP) & annual operating plan (AOP) for HSE performance across the region.

    Including use of tools such as the X-Matrix, A3 plans & lean principles.

  • Assist in resolving potential non-compliance, enforcement actions or litigation regarding HSE matters.
  • Be the HSE point of contact for the Fire & Security business and support the regional business leadership
  • Represent HBT HSE on any respective Corporate HSE Leadership Teams & the HBT HSEPS Global Leadership Team
  • Work with the site HSE Leaders to identify the necessary actions required to ensure ISO certifications are in place to allow the HBT business the ‘license to operate’
  • Deploy a robust governance & auditing program for HBT HSE across the region.
  • Partner with business leaders and employees to continuously improve the HSE culture & HSE awareness.

Key Deliverables:

  • Achieve or exceed the annual operating plan (AOP) – Incident reduction / elimination
  • Increase HSE Maturity, observations, corrective action metrics & common balanced scorecard performance index
  • Ensure compliance to HSE standards from leadership, employees, contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure an HSE continuous improvement culture is truly embedded within HBT.
  • Mature a resiliency program across the region and align improvements with the global plan
  • Ensure HSE is a key growth enabler to the HBT business and Honeywell.

Travel : 15% – 30% 

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • BS or MS degree in HSE or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading an HSE team.
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering HSE services and progressive leadership.

  • Strong influencing skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with service, process, facilities maintenance, or construction industries desired.
