The Data Analyst III will provide mid level expertise in applicable public health disciplines to collect, abstract, code, analyze, or interpret scientific data contained within information systems and databases related to public health.
Responsibilities Oversee and develop data management systems, including computer programs to monitor data quality Communicate with project areas regarding study activities and protocols Analyze data for reports, presentations and publications Assist in the review of study data for data quality Organize study files, including data and correspondence files Perform scientific, medical and research literature searches in fields including but not limited to Behavioral and Social Sciences, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Prepare slides for scientific presentations Provide analytic support to multi-disciplinary teams in order to accomplish public health research and program goals Provides subject matter expertise and technical assistance for users reporting data into the large public health databases Review data entered into databases and provide feedback and support to ensure data quality Assist in the development and maintenance of databases by submitting system change requests, performing application testing, managing data collection forms, and identifying system defects Qualifications BS in Quantitative discipline, Master’s preferred Five (5) years of relevant experience, of which approximately three (3) years must be specialized in the areas of public health Familiarity with analysis of infectious diseases a plus Proven experience in SAS,(R/R Shiny/SPSS/STATA a plus), RedCap Experience with MSAccess and SQL databases Must possess excellent analytical skills and be capable of breaking down complex issues into simplified problem statements Experience with presenting materials to clients or to large groups Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred Well-versed in Microsoft Office products Previous CDC experience preferred Background check required
