DevOps/Linux System Administrator

Sierra-Cedar, LLC

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted June 21, 2021.

The DevOpsIT Systems Administrator is responsible for a wide variety of tasks ranging from identifying opportunities for improving operational efficiencies and delivery, the design and implementation of robust and highly performant automated solutions, and operational support of Linux-based systems for on-premises and public cloud hosting infrastructures. This is a full time position. Must be located in or near the Alpharetta, GA area. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and solution delivery Research, recommend, and implement changes to standards and procedures to enhance automationorchestration capability Participate in problem analysis, solution developmentimplementation across Sierra-Cedar business units Build, maintain, and support complex and highly available Linux installations in a large scale hosted environment (on-premise and public cloud) Report on system availability, performance, licensing, and security compliance Respond within defined SLA metrics to issues logged in the company ticketing system Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation for research and resolution of production system problems Promote Continuous IntegrationContinuous Delivery (CICD) REQUIRED SKILLS Solid understanding of administrating Linux operating systems Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc. Scripting (Python, Bash, Perl, Shell scripting, etc.) Automation and config management skills using Ansible, Puppet, etc. Code Management and versioning utilizing GIT or similar code repository Effectively manage time and demonstrate innovative approaches to solving unique challenges Strong ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively and proactively across a large organization of dispersed teams Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentation Looks for ways to improve and promote quality Research and evaluate emerging technologies, new products, service offerings All candidates must be comfortable working directly with customers and other Sierra-Cedar team members in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. Linux server experience Experience operating in a data center, service provider, or similar high availability environment Vendor-specific certifications such as those from Red Hat, AWS, Terraform, or Puppet are a plus Experience with PeopleSoft applications is a plus Bachelorrsquos degree required TRAVEL No travel is required, however, it does require one to come into our Alpharetta office ABOUT SIERRA-CEDAR Sierra-Cedar delivers industry-focused client success by providing consulting, technical, and managed services to deploy, manage, and optimize next-generation applications and technology.
