Payroll Tax Specialist

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted November 11, 2021.

Job description:

The Payroll Reporting Specialist will be responsible for payroll withholding tax reporting and processing functions for third party sick pay purchasing loss of income insurance.

The candidate is responsible for timely and accurate reporting to internal and external customers.

Ability to work in a team environment, effectively communicate and problem solve.

Key Responsibilities:
Provides and ensures efficient, accurate, quality service to internal and external contacts including employees, service bureaus and taxing authorities.
Maintains multi-state payroll records according to company and government regulations.
Coordinates and processes payments to state and federal tax withholdings.
Coordinates tax notice reporting to external and internal recipients.

Such reporting includes but is not limited to W-2, 941 and 1099.
Responsible for reconciling withholding amounts to general ledger and data warehouse on a monthly basis.
Assists in preparing various ancillary regulatory state filings on a quarterly and annual basis.
Coordinates with third party vendor to ensure reporting obligations are timely and accurate.
Assists manager with improvement of internal controls, create efficiencies, special projects.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and management.
Intermediate proficiency and experience using MS Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates and technical developments for federal and state related to payroll administration and tax reporting.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or the equivalenteducation and/or experience
Experience:
3 to 7 years’ experience in administration of payroll and related tax reporting.
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
