Treasury Business Partner


This is a Full-time position in Marietta, GA posted November 21, 2021.

As a Treasury Business Partner, you will be close to ABB business in these countries and work with the Global Treasury Business Partners and Treasury Workstreams on supporting Electrification strategies and business model from a holistic treasury perspective as well as all ABB Business Areas’ treasury requests in the countries of your scope.

You will be based in USA.

Reporting to the Global Treasury Business Partner for Electrification, you will work closely with the Country Holding Officer (CHO) for USA, Country Finance Manager (CFM) for Canada, Senior Business Area colleagues and in regular alignment with Treasury Workstreams to support business growth and strengthen ABB’s competitive advantage through treasury advisory.

Your responsibilities

• Business Area Support: By leveraging your treasury, fiduciary and country specific expertise and practically applying it to the needs of the respective Business Area and Divisions become the main point of contact for treasury related matters within your countries of responsibility to provide treasury advisory to the business in the areas of:

• Foreign exchange and commodity hedging strategy and instruments

• Export and Trade Finance instruments

• Customer and Supplier financing options

• Credit insurance and Export Credit Agency (ECA) coverage

• Treasury aspects within the Risk Review Process (where required)

• Specific insurance matters, in close collaboration with Insurance Risk Management (CT-IRM)

• ○ Funding and dividend matters for all legal entities in your scope, in close collaboration with Corporate Funding (CT-CFU)

• M&A transactions

• Legal Entity and Fiduciary Support: Closely collaborate in the countries of your responsibility with the CHO/CFM and provide advice on the fulfilment of fiduciary and internal control requirements related to treasury

• Coordinate and support the clearance of audit findings and deficiencies and escalations to respective Treasury Workstream and the Business Area/CFM organization where appropriate

• Promote adherence to Corporate Policies related to treasury and support the shift to standardized processes, where required by closely working and collaborating with the ABB Operational Treasury organization and the different Treasury Workstreams to support their strategic priorities and initiatives and ensure smooth operations in the areas of: Local Bank Relationship Management, in close collaboration with Corporate Treasury Operations (CT-CTO), Trade compliance and export controls, Entity funding and capital structure, in close collaboration with Corporate Funding (CT-CFU), Dividend capacity and payments, in close collaboration with Corporate Funding (CT-CFU)

• Coordination Support: Collaborate with different stakeholders such as Business Area/Finance organization, incl.

CFM/CHO, the Global and other Treasury Business Partners and the Treasury Workstreams

• Coordinate activities across countries, different Business Areas and its Divisions in alignment with Global Treasury Business Partners

• Understand Business Areas and its Divisions’ needs as well as value chain, allowing for advising them on generally approved Treasury approaches and solutions support and handle transition and manage ongoing optimization of activities between in-country and Treasury Workstreams tasks and activities

Your background

• Bachelors degree and at least 10 years professional experience in treasury, corporate finance or business controlling function of a global company, with a wide scope in tasks and responsibilities, including currency exposure management, cash and liquidity management, financial risk management (incl.

credit and insurance risk management), competitive analysis, financial analysis and management reporting.

Masters degree is a plus.

• Strong experience in and understanding of different business models, able to support, drive and solve specific business problems and issues in-depth knowledge of financial products and markets, including funding and capital structures, derivatives (Foreign Exchange and Commodities), export and trade finance instruments and project financing

• Advanced aptitude and drive in problem solving, including the ability to logically structure an appropriate analytical framework

• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills,

• Recognized as strong team player and appreciated for collaboration and business partnering skills, with excellent business acumen

• Fluent in English, any other language is an asset

• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
