Senior Accountant

CDC Foundation

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted November 15, 2021.

OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for reviewing and analyzing accounting data for the Foundation.

This role will reconcile and analyze all balance sheet accounts and prepare all roll-forward schedules.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Controller to prepare month-end financial packages.

This individual will also support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Accountants as a backup.

The ideal candidate will be able to assist with coordination of the month-end close process.

This role will also be involved in Finance projects as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in accounting or finance.

5 plus years of accounting experience.

Previous experience with and an understanding of restricted giving and federal funding preferred.

Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant preferred.

Experience working with a general ledger accounting system required.

NetSuite and Adaptive experience a plus.

Proficiency in Excel is required.

Ability to work on tasks that require a high level of accounting knowledge and experience working with a large volume of data.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills.

Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.

Ability to work effectively with all staff and management, attention to detail, deadline driven and ability to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.

Prepare roll-forward schedules for Contracts and Net Assets.

Monitor and reconcile the operating bank accounts.

Review the General Ledger for accuracy and completeness.

Reconcile the travel activity from Concur into NetSuite.

Reconcile monthly purchase card activity.

Enter monthly investment activity in NetSuite.

Record amortization, depreciation and allocation entries monthly.

Assist Accounts Payable Accountant with the billing and processing of payments in NetSuite.

Assist the Accounts Receivable Accountant with entering pledges and processing payments.

Assist with the preparation of the 990.

Assist with the preparation of yearly audit schedules.

Assist the Assistant Controller with preparation of the monthly financial package including preparation of financial activities, variance explanations and analyzing results.

Assist with preparation of Statements of Procedure and accounting procedure manuals.

Work closely with the Assistant Controller to develop and implement accounting processes for the Foundation.

Provide assistance with Finance analysis projects.
