Senior Accountant

Confidential- Engineering

This is a Contract position in North Atlanta, GA posted November 22, 2021.

We are seeking a Senior Accountant in our North Atlanta office.

The ideal successful candidate will:

  • Work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
  • Be detail-oriented and analytical.
  • Have desire to learn all aspects of Accounting including Payroll, Billing, A/P, General Ledger, etc.
  • Have ability to follow the flow of transactions through the accounting system and determine best practice for processing transactions.
  • Create and manipulate reports in accounting software.
  • Collaborate and work with a team toward a common goal.
  • Be proficient in communication, interpersonal, organization and problem-solving skills.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Month-end close and reporting
  • Maintain fixed assets
  • Review employee expense reports
  • Oversee payroll
  • Perform tasks associated with AP/AR
  • Financial statement, overhead and year-end audit
  • Annual reports and certificates of authority
  • Professional liability insurance renewal

Duties:

  • Generate ideas for more effective approaches and practices to produce intended outcomes.
  • Implement and train staff on internal accounting policies and procedures as directed by Controller.
  • Communicate and coordinate with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Perform other general accounting duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Architecture/Engineering or professional services industry with project cost accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision or project-based accounting software package preferred
