Financial Planning Specialist

Northwestern Mutual - North Atlanta

This is a Full-time position in Atlanta, GA posted November 12, 2021.

The Financial Planning Specialist works with financial representatives to deliver financial security to their clients through a comprehensive planning process that integrates risk and investment products.

Specialists help financial representatives increase productivity by providing planning and integrated operations support.

Specific responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

Case Preparation
Prepare, or collaborate with others, to develop consistent, high quality life stage appropriate plans for every Financial Representative subscribing to the Financial Planning unit
Prepare, or collaborate with others to provide, an integrated package for financial representatives to deliver to their clients as part of a pre-sale package.

This includes risk product illustrations, proposals, Investment Policy Statements, etc.
Prepare, or collaborate with others to provide, all materials for plan and account reviews.

This includes an updated plan, illustrations, consolidated statements of assets and performance reports
Sales and Service Support
Prepare, or collaborate with others to provide, all materials and information new financial representatives need to support the underwriting and investment client onboarding process
Process, or collaborate with others to open/fund investment accounts and investment service requests such as funds disbursements, account transfers and trade correction requests
Process, or collaborate with others to complete risk product (POS) service requests such as name and address changes, beneficiary changes, updates to Insurance Service Accounts to facilitate the collection of payments, etc.

Life, Accident & Health insurance licenses
Series 6 or 7, and 63
Ability to assess client financial situations and analyze portfolios to develop and implement comprehensive plans aligned with client goal
Strong analytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with others
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and reliability with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance and/or equivalent work experience
2-3 years financial planning experience
